Yes. I work with schools, educational leaders, and organizations that want to design for holistic learning, including support for open-ended play, intrinsically motivated curiosity, nature connections, multiple modes of expression, spaciousness for all feelings, slow and deep attention, notice-to-wonder inquiry. This happens through workshops, site-based consultation, and/or trust-based communities of practice. See educators & schools.
-
Yes. I speak about what’s possible when we trust in what’s small, slow, simple, and true to who we are. I engage groups of any size (3 to 300+) in conversational experiences that allow participants to connect more deeply with what they already know. My talks invite people to slow down, notice deeply, linger with wonder, consider new perspectives, and find simple (and playful) ways to bring new ideas into daily practice.
-
Yes. I offer individual support and self-guided learning experiences for adults who teach, care for, and learn alongside children. Our work might explore how you listen to children, nurture their curiosity, support their sense of themselves as whole and free, or reconnect with your own wisdom and ways of being. See parents & caregivers or explore Button Snail Hum resources.
-
Yes. I offer creative mentorship for people who are bringing something new into the world or who long to deepen their relationship with their creative practice. Whether you're developing a book, exploring an idea, or finding your way into a new expression of your work, we can explore a playful process full of possibilities. See mentorship for creatives.

My work supports depth of process through emergent, customized collaboration designed for long-lasting application and holistic integration. Our work isn’t fast. We create the spaciousness we need for rigorous curiosity about your context and how you teach-lead-parent-listen-create. Learn more about me and my process.

Holistic learning invites the richness and complexity of whole beings who are full of feelings, messy with process, layered in modes of expression, and intrinsically motivated for curiosity and connection. I support design for: open-ended play, intrinsic motivation, nature connections, multiple modes of expression, spaciousness for all feelings, slow and deep attention, and notice-to-wonder inquiry. I work with schools, organizations, communities, and individuals. I specialize in learning for young children (ages 3-8), multi-age contexts, relational learning between children and caregivers, and adults learning about teaching, learning, process, or creativity.

Small and slow is the essence of learning. It’s not complicated. It’s simple and true. Everything we need is already here, inviting us to notice and wonder as we go into what’s small and play in the spaciousness of its spirals. Small is immense. Slow is connection. Simple is deep. Less is more. When we learn small and slow, we access the depths of our inner knowing, we feel our intrinsic motivations and curiosities, we connect with wisdoms beyond ourselves, and we embody the wholeness of who we are and what we long to express in the world. I’ve been teaching, writing, and practicing in the realms of small and slow for over three decades. You can read more in the archives of Noticing Matters.

Unschooling supports learning rooted in trust, intrinsic motivation, and the aliveness of curiosity. The UN is robust in opportunities for reflection, revision, and remembering. Unschooling, like unlearning, isn’t about less learning, it’s about deeper inner listening and freedom to explore what feels most alive within and around you. My work with others values this overlap of “unschooling” and “deschooling” and offers bountiful opportunities to play and wonder in landscapes of unlearning. If you’re interested in unschooling, take a look at Resee School or educators & schools.

Yes. I offer both online and in-person services. We can explore options during our connection call.
-
We begin with a conversation. You might have an idea or a question you want to discuss, or you may be open to whatever emerges. Our connection call is an opportunity for us to get to know one another, explore possibilities, and determine if working together is a good fit.
